Acne Struggles

I’m back! What has been happening in my life these past few weeks? You guessed it, I am working two great jobs and I just got a puppy! I am absolutely in love with my pretty girl Ollie and I can’t wait to share her with you all, but that is a post for another time. Today we’re talking skin care and let me tell you this has been my summer when it comes to clean and happy skin. Coming from somewhere like San Marcos where the air is humid and keeps my skin moist it really puts a damper in my skin for a few weeks when I come to the dry heat of El Paso.

First things first, acne is NORMAL and it is apart of your journey of life. You are beautiful just the way you are and acne does not define you. This might sound cliche but beauty comes within and if you radiate confidence everyone in the room with embrace that energy. I have come to grow with my acne and not focus so much on the negatives behind them, I work alongside it to clear it up as quickly and healthy as possible and positively go on with my day for a happy healthy lifestyle. So here are a few of my tips and tricks!

Finding a routine that suits you and your skin type is very important. If you have oily skin, I do recommend you substituting some of my daily items with your own product since I am coming from a dry skin type! My story goes back quite far when it comes to acne. If you have followed my past posts you’ve read that my acne not only was on my face but also my chest area and it was such a struggle from the beginning of high school until recently. My skin is dry dry and requires a lot of moisture especially when I decided to take part in this routine. When I first decided to take a stand to my acne it was very persistent and was not responding to most acne medication and the scars felt so permanent, it really did put a damper into my confidence especially in the summers when tank top time come around or when it was way too hot for makeup. If you know what it is like to apply foundation over acne it is not easy and takes way more time in the morning than I would have liked. I thought I would try something new and boy did it work!

When I wake up in the morning, I try to start my day off with a glass of water then proceed to my coffee. This wakes me up and makes my face feel refreshed and ready for the day. As a part of my morning bathroom routine I love to use my favorite face wash Cetaphil and gently rub it into my pores. Once I cleanse my face, I take a simple cotton pad and drench it with
Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Toner Cucumber - 12 oz and apply it all over my face. This may increasingly dry out your skin as it did to mine but it can simply be moisturized by the
Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion Unscented - 16oz that goes alongside it. I apply this moisturizer right before my makeup and it allows my face to appear dewier and protect my pores. After applying my makeup I seal it with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray that locks my makeup in place and keeps my skin feeling fresh. Throughout the day, I touch up with
Unscented Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Facial Blotting Sheets - 50ct  that can collect and remove the oils than applying more makeup and becoming more clogged up. These are so affordable and can be found in small travel sizes for your purse.

Bedtime consists of the same routine as the morning except with a few added products. I do the morning exactly the same except at night I finish the night off with as much water as possible and a nice face masks. Once I remove my makeup with a makeup wipe I then take a cotton pad and Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water For All Skin Types - 23.7 fl oz
all over my face to make sure I have really gotten deep into those pores. Then I proceed to the Cetaphil Facial Cleanser, Thayers Witch Hazel, and Cetaphil Moisturizer. After that all the blemishes and pimples I have are treated with the Clean & Clear Persa-Gel10 Acne Medication - 1oz in which I leave all night and remove in the morning and bam that's it!

Face routines should be suited to your own personal routine and this one has specifically worked for me. I am so incredibly amazed to see a difference and if you have any changes and put into this routine please reach out and share them with me! Each night is a different struggle to get up and perform this routine, but it has saved me so much time and I can be comfortable in my own skin! I have gained confidence and am so proud of the results! I encourage you all to go out there and try these products and if they work for you let me know!
