June Favorites
June has just begun but there are some items that I have seriously been obsessing over. Whether it's a skin care routine, snacks, or just everyday products I cannot wait to share them with you! I have taken much time into the products that I want to share with you through this blog post and I hope you know I would not share it with you unless I am absolutely in love with it. I will also include a list of items I plan on trying very soon and if you have already tried it and want to leave some reviews please feel free to do so.
Let's begin with skin care.
A part of this blog is being completely honest with my audience and sharing my personal battle with acne that has positively made a turn for the better. Yes, as a teen everyone gets acne but I was getting acne on my face, my back, and on my chest (my chest being the worst part). It really made me insecure about wearing swim suits, tank tops, and leotards (which was really hard since I spent 99.9% of the time dancing). There was a moment I woke up and decided to make a change even if it was small it would be a step in a direction towards controlled acne. I was eating a lot of fast food at the time because I had just learned how to drive so was heading to fast food places for lunch with my friends. I then realized that was a major cause to my breakouts and I needed to be smarter about my eating habits. I tried everything and felt as if the chest acne (which was the worst part for me) was never going to get any better. I still fought with this issue until recently. I have cut out as much junk food as possible and started drinking lemon water every morning as soon as I wake up. This was the first step to cleansing my skin.I have recently started exfoliating with a salt and shea butter body scrub that is meant for intense dirt build-up in your skin. It was painful at first I will be honest but within a week my chest looked better than it has ever before. As for my face, it has been much better since I changed my eating habits and has gradually become more moisturized and smooth. I give credit to Cetaphil ($8.99 at Target) a brand you can find at your nearest Target paired with the Cetaphil Face Moisturizer ($10.79 at Target) will change your life. Investing in a Clarisonic also a great product to use alongside the Cetaphil products. I have a Clarisonic Mia and has definitely cleaned out my pores and makes it easier to stay makeup-free. I have done it all from vinegar face wipes and witch hazel scrubs and nothing seems to work as great as this duo. Everyone goes through their own personal acne fighting story but there is help out there that can definitely make it less painful and a step towards the clear skin you desire.
Drinks
Of course, everyone hopped on the bandwagon of Topo Chico and yes I am one of them. Trust me, when you try it you can't go back. One thing I am honestly open about being picky about is water. I do think water tastes different from brand to brand and that's okay but I have a personal preference. Topo Chico has offered me everything mineral water has to offer, good carbonation, great taste, and very refreshing.
Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee is another drink on the June Favorites list. I have FINALLY got it right, after multiple attempts to find the perfect mixture of flavors, creamers, and sugar I got the taste I was looking for. Here it is... Medium Ice Coffee with French Vanilla Flavor no added sugar and light creamer, you cannot beat the price of $1.50!
Also, I am REALLY wanting to try the Grande Green Tea Frappe with 10 pumps of Raspberry from Starbucks if you watched the latest ACE Family video on Youtube.
Food
If you follow me on social media you know that Quesadilla's are kind of my favorite food ever. Yes, ever. Why? I have no idea but I'm pretty god at making them I might say. Since I have been making a lot often ever since I got home I of course have to add it to the June Favorites list. I prefer mine home-made and made on a sarten with either chicken or beef inside. Call me crazy but I can eat them anytime of the day.
Are smoothies considered food? I should probably know the answer to that... but I use smoothies as a breakfast meal and make them from scratch. It is super easy, add the fruits of your choice (mine are strawberries, bananas, mango, and blueberries) with Almond Milk, Raw Honey, plain yogurt and mix it up in your blender. It is super easy and super fast especially when your running to work and need something to hold you over until lunch. Again, I work two jobs right now so having small snacks throughout the day is ideal. Did I mention I work at a movie theater? Well I do, it is amazing and I get to grub on some popcorn too!
Clothes
My obsession right now is going to Pacsun and purchasing Brandy Melville. My sister has taught me the right way to shop for Brandy Melville since we do not have an individual store here in El Paso and I prefer in-store shopping then online. Since Brandy Melville is one size fits all it is kind of hard to find outfits that fit my body figure so I make sure to try it on! My favorite shirts of the month include the Hailie Lace Top from Brandy Melville for $18 before tax and a Cheetah Tank that I wore to Neon Desert 2019 for $35 before tax (where you can find in my previous post). Simple has kind of been my thing this summer, Plain Jane and I am liking it!
I can't forget my very special vintage shorts I purchased at Vagabond in San Marcos, Texas on the square for $15! I love this store and it is a super cute place to find vintage clothes for cheap and make some super cute Insta outfits.
Hair Products
In case you did not know I was blonde a few months ago, it was very expensive and damaging to my hair so I made a decision to go back to my natural hair color. It has been a journey since then and here is my recent hair story. I-not really myself but my roomie Kendall who is now my hairstylist-dyed my hair after being blonde for two years and well it was super black, it looked good but I thought it would just erase the fact that I was ever blonde. I was wrong. My blonde consistently comes up and I am having to re-apply hair dye every time it comes through. To prevent my hair from becoming more damaged I use the product It's a 10 Silk Express Miracle Silk Leave in 10 Fl oz. I apply this product after every shower and allow for it to air dry and soak into my hair. When it is all dry and ready to go it is left in a state of perfection, it is silky, smooth, and this product is what you need to get your hands on if you face the same issue as I. You can find this product at Target for the price of $43.26 before tax, it is worth the investment!
Body
Working two jobs means that there is very little time for suntanning and beach going. Unfortunately I live pretty far from a beach and spending two to three hours at the pool to get tan does not fit into my day-to-day schedule. I do have a daily moisturizer, I apply it in the morning when I am getting ready for my day and at night before I go to bed. This moisturizer is the Jergins Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer Tan to Medium. This product has to be my FAVORITE product of the month because even though I have a super busy schedule I can be a tan queen like the rest of you beauties out there. Yes, I wish I had to to sit and relax but work is a priority so I have to get tan someway or another. It is very natural looking and you can apply it whenever you'd like and however often. Once you reach the desired tone you can simply add less and not only does it give you a slight tan but it offers a moisturized glow which is radiating. You can purchase this product at Ulta Beauty for the price of $9.99 before tax. That's my big secret... phew I am so glad its out.
Makeup
IT Cosmetics is honestly my absolute favorite CC cream out in the market. I appreciate its commitment to the natural airbrush look while it still covers my face and provides excellent protection from the sun. When I get sunburned I peel on my cheeks and nose and it is NOT a cute look for me. If you get a chance to try out this product it can be found at Ulta Beauty for the price of $39.00 before tax.
Bretman posted a Instagram Story today regarding the Essence Brow and Lash Gel available at Ulta Beauty. You know I had to get in the car and run to go get it. There were hardly any left then I thought to myself that everyone was probably out to see if this actually was the best brow and lash gel to exist, well to answer that question it is. It lifts my brows beautifully and adds a dynamic to them. Why is this so shocking you may ask? BECAUSE the price for this product is $2.99! Wait what? I KNOW I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! Bretman, thank you. Im HOOKED.
Products I Want to Try
Products I want to try throughout the month of June and July to give you all my honest review.
Kyle Skin
There has been so many amazing reviews on this product that I plan on ordering at least the moisturizer and face wash to test it out myself. I am obsessed with skin care and to be able to test out another would be such a great experiment.
Coconut Water
I want to have my own little challenge with this one you know? See how Bretman Rock's taste buds differ from mine and maybe get some of it on video. Let's see how this goes!
Ariana Grande Cloud Perfume
This one is like a total obvious product I need to try since I have been an Ari fan since forever so this month I will purchase and try and let you know how it is!
FILA Shoes
My current obsession would be these shoes and I am planning on buying them very first thing on Thursday morning. Are these a necessity? They sure are and I am so excited to get my feet in them.
There are probably so many items I will stumble upon between here and July and I am going to try to be as outgoing as possible to get some new products reviewed within the next few months. June Favorites are just what I happen to be loving and if you are loving an item and want to give me recommendations please feel free to let me know!
Catch you next time!
